Fire Service
London Southend Airport ’s Fire and Rescue service is fully approved by the CAA. Full 24-hour cover is provided by 23 fully trained aviation fire-fighters supported by three appliances with media capability up to Fire Category 6. As well as providing airport cover, the fire service offers training to cabin crew up to CAP360 and to fire-fighters at low category airfields.

The following categories are provided, all times are local:

RFF Category 4 Monday to Friday from 0600-2000, with Category 6 available at maximum 30 minutes notice.

RFF Category 2 Monday to Friday 2000-2200 and 0600-2200 at weekends. Upgrades to Category 6 by arrangement.

RFF Category 1 Monday to Friday 2200-0600. Upgrades by arrangement with 12 hours notice.
