PASSENGER FLIGHTS & USEFUL INFORMATION

In 2010 from Southend you can either:-

  • Fly to Jersey during May to September on the weekly Flybe service.
  • Charter an aircraft of any size ranging from a six seat air taxi to a 110 seat regional airliner.

The airport will be pleased to put you in touch with airlines and air taxi companies and air charter brokers who specialise in finding the right aircraft for the proposed flight.

Useful Passenger Information:
Check-In: Passengers with hand luggage can arrive just 20 minutes before take off. Those with hold luggage should arrive one hour before their flight. Your airline will advise on the maximum size and weight of hand luggage allowed.

On-Line Check-In and Pre booking of seats
is available on scheduled flights from Flybe. www.flybe.com/en/checkin/ and on certain charter flights

Flight Arrivals:
Arriving at Southend Airport is a remarkably fast and efficient process. It’s just a short, level walk to enter the terminal and reclaim bags. Passengers are through the airport and on their way within minutes of landing.

Mobility:
There are no stairs or escalators to negotiate at Southend and access to the aircraft is on level ground. Help with boarding and disembarking the aircraft is available by prior arrangement with your airline or Southend Handling on 01702 608100.

Customs, Immigration and Special Branch:
Officers from Customs, Immigration and Special Branch are permanently based at the airport.

Security Regulations:
Southend Airport complies with the National Aviation Security Programme. However, the process does not cause delays, as at the large airports.

Coffee Shop and Restaurant:
The 100 seat coffee shop offers a new menu featuring a large selection of sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, toasted and a fine all day breakfast. There is also a wide range of biscuits, cakes and hot and cold beverages.

Passport Photos:
A passport photo booth is available in the passenger terminal during normal terminal opening hours.

Car Parking:
At present ample free car parking spaces are available near the passenger terminal.
