For based and visiting aircraft, Southend provides executive handling services through its own in-house Southend Handling.

Our team can provide all of the following:-

Flight Operations:
Experienced flight operations personnel provide crews with weather and airport briefing packs and assist with flight planning, airways slots and all the flight information they need.

Control Authorities:
As a fully licenced port of entry the airport has full time HM Customs and Immigration and Special Branch Officers present throughout operational hours.

Passenger Handling:
Southend Handling is the airport’s own fixed based operator with the office located in the passenger terminal. The handling team will look after all of your aircraft, passenger and crew requirements including ground transportation, hotel accommodation, in flight catering, laundry, newspapers and any special requirements.

Overnight hangarage:
Many of the hangar owners and operators on the airfield can accommodate aircraft stopping overnight or for short periods. Please ask the Southend Handling team to arrange.

Aircraft Parking:
The airport has extensive apron areas for short or long term aircraft parking.

Apron Services:
GPU, de-icing, toilet servicing, portable water, air stairs and aircraft wash/interior valet are services available at the airport.

In flight Catering:
A range of exceptional catering suppliers are familiar with Southend Airport and our handling team will be pleased to place individual bookings on behalf of operators.

Wifi Broadband Access:
The whole terminal complex has wifi Broadband access for appropriately configured laptops.

VIP Lounge:
Arrangements are available for individual lounges for passengers, subject to other operations and prior booking.

Crew Lounge:
A new crew lounge is located in the passenger terminal next to flight briefing.

Baggage Screening:
The airport offers 100% baggage screening for hold and hand baggage, together with personnel screening through the AMD. The airport complies with the Department for Transport’s National Aviation Security Programme.

Meeting Rooms:
Lounges and meeting rooms can be hired, with catering, by prior arrangement.

Hotels:
The handling team will be pleased to arrange for passenger and crew accommodation in nearby hotels. The airport is in the final stages of planning and discussions for a four star hotel close by the passenger terminal, due to be completed by Spring 2010.
