Santa Arrives At London Southend Airport
Father Christmas and two of his helpers have made a special landing at London Southend Airport – five months before his traditional December visit to Essex.
Santa was visiting the airport in order to officially launch Christmas at the brand new 4-star Holiday Inn Southend, before jetting out on a pre-Christmas season break – by plane, rather than on a sleigh with Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph.
The Laker Suite at the five-storey hotel will be transformed into a glittering Winter Wonderland for the 2012 festive season. Groups of friends, colleagues or relatives can enjoy a delicious 3-course meal before dancing the night away with the resident DJ.
In a first for Holiday Inn in the UK, will also have a magnificent, fully sound-proofed panoramic rooftop bar and restaurant which seats 70 people, called the 1935 Rooftop Restaurant & Bar. Each December weekend it will be hosting the Santa Sunday Lunch – with a delicious festive roast and very special guest flying in with surprise gifts for good boys and girls.
The hotel’s General Manager Steve Brazil says “We are very pleased that Father Christmas was able to take time out his busy schedule to visit us at London Southend Airport today and has given the festive celebrations we are planning at the brand new Holiday Inn the Santa seal of approval! Our aim is that the Holiday Inn Southend will become a destination restaurant and function venue for local people as well as a high quality hotel. Christmas 2012 is just the start of our plans.”
