New Airport Train Station Prepares for Takeoff

Another milestone in the construction of the London Southend Airport Railway station was achieved on Saturday 27 March 2010. Stobart Rail lifted the new railway station footbridge in to place during Saturday night / Sunday morning.

The footbridge installation is yet another critical step in this flagship project, and a highly visible sign of the good progress being made on site.

The £12 million project is being funded by London Southend Airport and its owner, the Stobart Group.

The new station will be on the National Express East Anglia Southend Victoriato London Liverpool Street line.

Work is on schedule for completion by July 2010.
