Light Aircraft Incident - 04/07/2008

At 1109hrs this morning a single engine light aircraft enroute from Panshanger to Ostende declared an emergency and diverted to Southend Airport. The light aircraft landed with its undercarriage in the up position.
Airport emergency services were on the scene immediately after the aircraft came to a halt and none of the four people on board sustained any injuries.
The airport was closed for one hour whilst the aircraft was removed and the runway fully checked for any debris or damage. The AAIB have been informed.
