By Rail

Please be aware that there will be planned rail alteration works on Sunday 26th May and Sunday 2nd June on the Greater Anglia Rail Line.

Sunday 26th May

Due to overhead line maintenance works between London Liverpool Street and Stratford Stations all trains will start and terminate at Stratford Station. All passengers travelling to and from London Liverpool Street Station should use the Central Line Tube. Valid Rail tickets will be accepted on this route.Please click here for more information.

Sunday 2nd June

Maintenance and Renewal Works will be taking place between Hockley and Southend Victoria Stations from start of service until 10:00am. Rail Replacement Road Transport will operate between Hockley and Southend Victoria until 10:00am Sunday.

Overhead Line renewal Works will be taking place between Shenfield and Ilford Stations from start of service until 08:00am. Rail Replacement Road Transport will operate between Shenfield and Ilford / Liverpool Street until 08:00am Sunday.

We would advise all passengers to allow extra time when travelling to the airport.

  Please note that for late arrivals or early departures there are limited or no train services. The last train departs Southend Airport Railway Station at 23:05 with the first train arriving at Southend Airport Railway Station at 06:31 (Please be aware that weekend rail services vary in departure and arrival time to the above). Passengers are advised that the X30 coach service runs through the night and taxis are also available.

NB. The railway station building is not open overnight. This may change should there be delayed trains.

At peak times there are up to eight trains per hour to London Liverpool Street from London Southend Airport. With a journey time of 53 minutes to central London's Liverpool Street Station, 44 minutes to Stratford Station, and under 100 paces from station to the new passenger terminal we are one of the most accessible airports in the country. The station is located a short walk from the current passenger terminal.
